Weeks 10 – 15 Assignments will be posted on this page.

Blogs must be posted every Friday by 17:00 GMT -6 (i.e. 5:00 PM US Central Time) or 5 points will be deducted from the grade. This is not system time.  It is the time at my desk when I am going to grade them.

Week 11

  • Blog 7: Describe pipes.yahoo.com and discuss your favorite example — Add the TAGS: SEX and NAKED to your entry.  We will check the blog stats count on Thursday, so no one submit before Thursday, as I want to check the impact.

Week 12

  • Blog 8: Describe popfly.com and discuss your favorite example
  • Project Workshops: Podcast Lab — 3 minute podcast using tools in podcast studio — Topic:  Summarize this Wired Magazine article — How Apple Got Everything Right By Doing Everything Wrong – Your QUIZ 5 grade will be the result of this process.
  • Grad Students:  Group Assignment — Create tutorial for Yahoo Pipes Mashup and Podcast Creation. (5 points)

Week 13

  • Wednesday Evening: All Summary Podcasts Due (1700 / 5:00 pm GMT – 6 / US Central) You must be ready to be evaluate on Thursday 3 April in class for peer evaluation. It is not mandatory to submit to Youtube, so you can just provide the file if you feel more comfortable.
  • Blog 9: What is the difference between user driven software tools and traditional software development models?
  • Project Workshops: Group Assessment Day on Thursday
  • Assignment:  Write 5 questions (multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank) designed for the final exam and provide the answers to each question.  Send to Matt via email.

Week 14

  • Blog 10: Discuss user rating systems and social evaluation in music, movies, software and shopping.  Compare to traditional editorial reviews
  • In Class Presentations and Peer Evaluations
  • Mashups Due: Monday Evening 5:00 pm US Central GMT-6

Week 15

  • Podcasts Due: Monday Evening 5:00 pm US Central GMT-6 – Deliver file to Youtube and provide Harrison S. with URL.
  • In Class Presentations and Peer Evaluations 
  • Final Exam: 22 April @ 11:15 (Back to the Engineering Homeland)
  • Blog 11: Of all the things that you learned in the course, what is the most important thing that you feel should be communicated to readers of our blog? (worth up to 5 points applied to any one of your blog grades)
